Get In Where You Fit In | IN PROTEST: Washington, D.C.

From the frontlines of resistance, a constellation of Black voices challenges systemic American racism in a new four-volume virtual reality series entitled IN PROTEST: Grassroots Stories from the Front Lines. Each Volume chronicles a different American city, profiling modern activists as they move beyond street protests to confront inequality and injustice in everyday life. These gripping, first-person stories speak to the urgency of the current uprising to inspire a new generation of defiance.

The steps of the Lincoln Memorial are an iconic location for protest. While reflecting on the fifty-seven years since Martin Luther King Jr gave his iconic speech, speakers at the March on Washington 2020 also urged attendees to use their vote for change. Dr. Imani Cheers, Associate Director and Professor at George Washington University (, speaks to the gravity of the vote both locally and federally. Walk with her as she attends the protest with her 6-year-old son, helping him understand and document his own perception.
